The Logistics Council supports continuous professional development through regular educational seminars and facilities tours. We also encourage students to pursue supply chain-related degree programs and careers in supply chain by offering scholarships.

Our scholarships are awarded annually to students in accredited degree programs in Wisconsin colleges and universities.  Scholarship recipients are limited to receiving a scholarship from The Logistics Council twice.

Maria Cartier
Market Development Manager
Port Milwaukee

Maria joined the Trade Development team at Port Milwaukee in 2019. As Market Development Manager, Maria leads efforts to promote the Port’s multimodal capabilities and expand its domestic and international trade footprint. She cultivates industry connections, identifies new and expanded cargo opportunities, and raises awareness of the Port as a vital logistics hub in North America’s industrial heartland.

With a background in global manufacturing and a passion for international business, Maria brings strong expertise in marketing, sales, and stakeholder engagement. She also oversees creative and marketing initiatives supporting the Port’s supply chain, cruise operations, and broader commercial activities.

Maria holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, with a major in Marketing and minors in German and French.

Korey Garceau
Trade Development Representative
Port Milwaukee

Korey has been a member of the Port Milwaukee team since May 2023. Prior to joining the port as Trade Development Representative, he completed studies at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation and Logistics Management. During his time at the university, he completed internships with the Lake Express High-Speed Ferry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the Duluth Seaway Port Authority in Duluth, Minnesota.

In his role at Port Milwaukee, Korey supports the Market Development Manager in commercial trade development and strategic marketing efforts. He is responsible for coordination and business outreach relating to Great Lakes cruising, promoting Milwaukee as a premier turnaround port for international cruise lines. Korey serves as administrator of Foreign Trade Zone #41, of which Port Milwaukee is Grantee, and oversees the permitting of Port Milwaukee’s Urban Park and Water Permit programs.
