Please join The Logistics Council (TLC) for dinner and a presentation on Thursday, September 20th. Larry Sullivan, Chief Engineer for the Port of Milwaukee, will share his outlook for the industry as a whole, as well as discuss the strategies that ports and shippers are using to respond to recent trends.  In addition, we will be presenting scholarships to our 2012 Scholarship Award Recipients.  Please join us for the celebration.

Program Overview:

There is no shortage of speculation about the economic outlook for the next 12-18 months. Many sources indicate an upward trend in worldwide shipping demand. So, what are International and US-based ports doing to respond to this anticipated growth in demand? What factors may limit growth and capacity expansion, thus impacting costs for shippers? Furthermore, how are the supply chain strategies of shippers evolving to respond to these issues?

Topics to be addressed:

  • What is the near-term outlook for world shipping?
  • What are the key issues that shippers and ports currently face?
  • How are ship lines and ports responding to these issues?
  • How are Transportation Managers evolving their supply chain strategies in response to current market conditions?
