Program Overview:

You are invited to attend a half-day program on Thursday, October 16th. It is an educational event focused on explaining transportation market dynamics and presenting insight and strategies for procuring carriers and favorable rates an environment of increasingly tight capacity.

This program will feature executives from several major asset-based carriers representing multiple modes, including truckload, LTL and intermodal, including Schneider National, Averitt Express and Hub Group. 

Our experts will provide data on both the demand and supply sides of the current transportation market.  The pendulum is shifting in favor of the carriers.  Therefore, it is important to understand the bidding process, such as how to prepare a bid packet for carriers and the means to present a favorable program for attract carriers and secure available capacity.  Each carrier will talk about the required data elements for a bid packet, the carrier’s selection process, and factors involved in determining pricing and terms of agreement.

Presentations will lead into a moderated panel discussion, taking questions from the audience.

Vincent PaperielloVincent Paperiello – Hub Group

Vincent Paperiello is currently the Vice President, Pricing and Yield Management at Hub Group, Inc. Previously Vince was Vice President, Intermodal Pricing from 2007 to 2013 and Vice President, Yield Management since 2005. Vince started his career at Hub Group in 1993 and over the course of 21 years has held a variety of operational, logistics management and business intelligence positions.

Vince earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Western Illinois University in 1992 and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from DePaul University in 2001.

richardson_woodyWoody Richardson – Schneider National, Inc.

Woody Richardson is Senior Vice President of Global Commercial Services for Schneider National, Inc.  Schneider is a provider of truckload, intermodal, brokerage and logistics services having revenues in 2013 of 3.6 billion dollars.  In his 33 years at Schneider  Woody has served in a number of positions, including; leading Engineering and Business Transformation processes including the Oracle transformation of commercial systems, the start-up and leadership of Schneider National’s Intermodal service, the leadership responsibility for Logistics, Intermodal, and Brokerage procurement, leadership of the Marketing and Pricing functions,  National Account Sales, and Sales Administration responsibilities.

Prior to working at Schneider Woody worked as an Operations Research Analyst for the Burlington Northern Railroad.

Mr. Richardson has a Masters in Civil Engineering/Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Ted VanHyfteTed VanHyfte – Averitt Express

Ted VanHyfte is the Regional Vice President for Averitt Express.  He has 24 years of transportation experience including Small Package, LTL, TL, Dedicated, Supply Chain, International, Portside Distribution, Intermodal and Expedited.  Prior to working at Averitt Express, he worked at Roadway Packaging System and Roadway Express.

His current responsibilities include Sales and Operations in the Midwest Region. Including all modes of transportation services and all areas of business. Key markets include: Chicago, St Louis, Milwaukee, Cleveland, St Paul-Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Seattle.

Mt. VanHyfte has a Bachelors degree in Communication & Business from Wake Forest University.
