Program Overview:

With a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise, Evan will provide an overview of the global and domestic third-party logistics market.  Customer use of third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to meet supply chain management needs will be highlighted. Also, Evan will examine the needs of industry along with current 3PL service offerings.  Lastly, Evan will outline the major 3PLs by region.

Evan has over 20 years of experience in Supply Chain management.  As President of Armstrong & Associates, Inc., he oversees many market research initiatives and provides consulting services to Supply Chain participants in the following areas: business planning, logistics outsourcing, mergers and acquisitions, market analysis and benchmarking, transportation management, and supply chain systems evaluation and selection.

Prior to joining Armstrong & Associates, Inc. in February 2000, Evan was Vice President of Pricing at Roadrunner Freight Systems, Inc. (a $120 Million non-asset based transportation provider).  He has held sales and marketing and operations positions with major providers of small package transportation, LTL transportation, and third-party logistics services.  Evan has developed and implemented transportation and logistics systems and has spearheaded startup logistics operations for Fortune 500 customers.  He has an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing and a BBA – Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Evan participates as a lecturer for the, “Industrial Transportation Management and Quality Performance” University of Wisconsin-Madison Executive Education Program.  His published articles include: “Recession Resistant, Revenues of 3PLs are Up Despite the Slumping Economy” – The Journal of Commerce, “The Evolution of Supply Chain Management Software” – Logistics Management magazine and “Fuel Surcharges Save Profits” – the Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association Report.
